For the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking to advance your career path, the LPN to RN (Registered Nursing) program at Mitchell Tech is designed to build upon your previously learned and practiced foundational nursing knowledge as an LPN. Our curriculum will allow you to grow into your new RN role in just one year.

As an RN student at Mitchell Tech, you will master scientific, physiologic, psychosocial, and fundamental nursing knowledge which will expand and develop your critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. With nursing theory and general education classes delivered online, the program requires minimal trips to campus.  You will attend clinicals one day a week within the Mitchell and surrounding communities to expand your nursing knowledge and skills. The RN program will also incorporate clinical simulation experiences using Mitchell Tech’s sim labs and virtual technology.

Upon completion of the LPN to RN program, you will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree and be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN. Obtaining your RN degree will provide you with more opportunities to transition into a variety of expanded nursing roles.

Graduates of the RN program will find jobs in a variety of settings that may include acute care, long term-care, ambulatory care, home health care, correctional facilities, outpatient care facilities and other settings where nurses are needed.

Forty And Eight Voiture 481 Nurse Training Scholarship

Forty and Eight Voiture 481

La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (The Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses), is an independent, invitation only, honor society of American veterans and service members; more commonly known as The Forty and Eight. The Forty and Eight is committed to charitable and patriotic aims. Our purpose is to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States, to promote the well-being of veterans, their widows, widowers and orphans, and to actively participate in selected charitable endeavors, which include programs that promote child welfare and nurses training. The titles and symbols of The Forty and Eight are derived from the experiences of U.S. troops during World War I. American soldiers were transported to the front on the French rail system. Cramped into narrow gauge boxcars, each stenciled with “40 Hommes/8 Chevaux”, denoting its capacity to hold either 40 men or 8 horses. The Forty and Eight was founded in 1920 by American veterans returning from France. Originally an arm of the American Legion, the Forty and Eight became an independent and separately incorporated veteran’s organization in 1960. 2 scholarships for LPN program. 2 scholarships for LPN to RN.
