Lisa Smart Memorial Scholarship

Kim & Michael Mohr

Kim and Michael H Mohr established the Lisa Smart Memorial Scholarship to honor the memory of Kim’s sister, Lisa, a nurse who passed away at the age of 37 from cancer. The donor wishes to award the scholarships annually at the MTC Nursing Pinning Ceremony. Students must complete the Fall Current Student Foundation Scholarship application.
*Enrolled fulltime in the LPN or LPN-RN program *Student must be completing their 3rd semester *GPA 2.5 or higher

Women for Success at Tech Group

The Women for Success at Tech Scholarship is a dedicated award established by the Women for Success at Tech group at Mitchell Technical College. This scholarship aims to support and empower female students who are pursuing their education and career goals at Mitchell Tech. Created by women who are committed to fostering success and leadership among female students, this scholarship recognizes academic potential, perseverance, and a commitment to personal and professional growth. It is awarded annually to one or more outstanding female students who demonstrate a strong work ethic, leadership qualities, and a dedication to making a positive impact in their chosen field. This scholarship is more than just financial aid—it’s a show of support from a community of women who believe in the power of education and in the potential of every female student to achieve success.

Rod Bowar Memorial Scholarship

Kennebec Telephone Company

Rod owned Kennebec Telephone Company, providers of telephone, cable TV and internet service to Kennebec, Presho and rural Lyman County. He joined the company in 1977 and purchased it in 1998. Rod was passionate about providing the best opportunities possible for his family and community. He served on many different boards and committees, including serving on the Mitchell Technical College Foundation Board. Two of Rod’s children were Mitchell Tech grads, and his businesses employ multiple Mitchell Tech graduates.
