Ag Memorial Endowed Scholarship

During the course of MTC’s history, MTC instructors, students, alumni and family have established scholarship funds in memory of Ag students, alumni or Ag Board members. B.J. Stoeser – was a 1982 graduate of the Ag program and was killed in a car accident in October, 1987. He was remembered as tough, enthusiastic and persistent with excellent leadership skills. Bryan Larson – was a 1981 graduate of the Ag program. Dennis Boehmer – attended the Ag program in 1980-81. He succumbed to cancer between his first and second year of school. Topper Largent -was an Ag Advisory Board member. Largent was killed in a plane crash near Hot Springs, SD. These scholarship will be awarded to students who exhibit outstanding leadership qualities. The scholarship will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account the following Fall semester.

AG Leadership – SD PAS

SD PAS

This scholarship endowment was created in 2017 with funds received from the SD PAS Organization and private donations from Ag-related donors. This scholarship will be awarded to any student in Ag Business, Agronomy or Animal Science programs that shows exceptional leadership capabilities.

AG Class Of 1974 Scholarship

Alumni of Ag Class of 1974

The Ag Class of 1974 scholarship was established in 2014 by several alumni who wished to support second year Ag Business, Animal Science and Agronomy students in their quest to obtain an education in the program. The scholarship will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account for the second semester of their second year.

Loren G Kasten, Emeritus In Agronomy Scholarship

Roxene G. Kasten

Loren Kasten was a former Ag instructor at Mitchell Tech. This scholarship was established by his family.

Gordon And Ethel Bainbridge Memorial Scholarship

Gordon and Ethel Bainbridge Family

Harv Kelley had a life-long career in the Telecommunications industry and wished to provide funding for student’s tools with this scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded each year to a student who meets the listed criteria.
Applicant must currently be an accepted Incoming full-time student enrolled in the Wi-Fi and Broadband/Telecommunications program Applicant must be a resident of a community within a 50-mile radius of Mitchell. Applicant must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (universal financial aid application form) Applicant must complete the MTC Online Incoming student application to be eligible for this scholarship.

Edinger Family Scholarships

Wayne and Sue Edinger

Wayne and Sue Edinger, longtime supporters of the Mitchell Tech Ag Technology programs, have provided scholarships for students enrolled in Mitchell Tech’s ag-related programs for many years. Wayne passed away in November 2018 but the family continues to provide scholarship funding for students enrolled in Ag Business, Agronomy or Precision Ag.

Scholarship will be payable $1000 in Fall Incoming semester and student must maintain a 2.5 GPA at the end of year 1 in order to receive the remaining $1000 in Fall semester of second year.

The CHS Scholarship program provides financial assistance to undergraduate students at select universities who are pursuing agriculture related degrees.

David Grode Memorial Scholarship

Family of David Grode

David Grode was the Superintendent of Schools at Plankinton, SD. He was killed in the propane explosion that destroyed the school on November 17, 2000. David was an avid woodworker, therefore his family decided to establish this memorial scholarship for Natural Gas Technologies or Architectural Design and Building Construction students. The scholarship will be awarded to an accepted Incoming student who meets the listed criteria and applied to their account for the Fall semester.
