The Business Management program offers broad training in key business areas that employers want such as sales, advertising, marketing, insurance, investments, and supervisory management. You’ll develop skills in effective decision making, problem solving, organizing and planning.

A wide variety of jobs are available to those with Business Management degree. You will find employment opportunities in nearly every sector of the economy.

The integration of technology allows students to take some courses face-to-face and some as hybrids (a combination of online and face-to-face). This program is not currently offered as a fully online program.

The Mitchell Technical College business programs, offered for the AAS degree, is a candidate for accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs. 

ACBSP Standard 7 requires that the business unit have a systematic process to identify and track key student performance measures for the purpose of of continuous improvement.

Rod Bowar Memorial Scholarship

Rod owned Kennebec Telephone Company, providers of telephone, cable TV and internet service to Kennebec, Presho and rural Lyman County. He joined the company in 1977 and purchased it in 1998. Rod was passionate about providing the best opportunities possible for his family and community. He served on many different boards and committees, including serving on the Mitchell Technical College Foundation Board. Two of Rod’s children were Mitchell Tech grads, and his businesses employ multiple Mitchell Tech graduates.

Martin and Maude Osterhaus established this endowed scholarship in 1995 to provide financial support for at least four deserving Mitchell Tech students each year. The scholarships will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account the following Fall semester.
