MTI Culinary Program Achieves Accreditation

Mitchell Technical Institute was recently notified that its Culinary Academy has been accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation through 2017.

The program sought initial accreditation by the organization and hosted a site visit in April 2014.  ACF is the culinary leader in offering educational resources, training, apprenticeship and programmatic accreditation designed to enhance professional growth for all current and future chefs and pastry chefs. In addition, ACF operates the most comprehensive certification program for chefs in the United States.

MTI becomes the Federation’s only accredited program in South Dakota.  Accreditation assures that a program is meeting at least a minimum of standards and competencies set for faculty, curriculum and student services.  Instructors Josh Kranz, Jim Wagner and Shawn Frey are pleased to be part of program that now carries their industry’s seal of approval.  The MTI Culinary Academy is approved to offer the Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts and certificates in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry.

The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF), established in 1929, is the standard of excellence for chefs in North America. With nearly 20,000 members spanning 200 chapters nationwide, ACF is the culinary leader in offering educational resources, training, apprenticeship and programmatic accreditation.
