SkillsUSA “Cares” for Students

The annual SkillsUSA Care Package fundraiser was held recently and 85 bags of groceries were purchased by friends and family members and delivered to students this week.

The annual projects consists of a mailing to the family members of enrolled students.  They are given the opportunity to purchase a care package for $20.  Working with County Fair Foods in Mitchell, SkillsUSA purchases nonperishable food items like cereal, snack, popcorn, hot chocolate, mac-n-cheese, and lots of other items.  The bags are filled to capacity and a personalized card from the sender is attached.  Then the SkillsUSA members personally deliver the bags to students.

This major fundraiser supports the travel expenses of SkillsUSA contestants to state and national competition.

SkillsUSA is open to any MTI student.  Advisers are Greg Neppl and Amanda Neppl.
