MTI Again Named Military Friendly®

Mitchell Technical Institute announced today that it has been designated a 2015 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media. Now in its sixth year, the Military Friendly® Schools designation is awarded to the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students, and to dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.

MTI president Greg Von Wald, himself a military veteran, was pleased with the designation.  “MTI knows how valuable a well educated, highly skilled veteran can be to a company or organization.  Nomination to this list is an indicator to both veterans and employers that MTI is an excellent choice for veterans to pursue technical training after they leave the armed forces.”

The designation has become one of the premier resources for post-military success.  Military Friendly® provides service members data-driven ratings about post-military education and career opportunities.  The methodology used for making the Military Friendly® Schools list has played a significant role over the past six years in capturing and advancing best practices to support military students across the country.  The survey captures over 50 leading practices in supporting military students and is available to the more than 8,000 schools approved for Post-9/11 GI Bill funding.

The Military Friendly® Schools designation process includes extensive research and a survey of schools nationwide approved for Post-9/11 GI Bill funding. The school survey, methodology, criteria and weightings are developed with the assistance of an independent academic advisory board comprised of educators from schools across the country, and are independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.  A complete list of schools named to the list can be found at www.gijobs.com.
