Student Loan Payments
Student loan payments have restarted effective October 2023.
The Department of Education announced that the student loan payment pause ended. Interest resumed on September 1, 2023, and loan repayment started in October 2023, so it’s crucial to be well-informed.
Visit StudentAid.gov for more information and to review your loans.
Steps for borrowers
- Review your loans on StudentAid.gov
- Update your contact information with your loan servicer(s) and on StudentAid.gov
- Compare repayment plans, including the SAVE Plan, to find the best plan for you
- Enroll in auto pay to stay on top of payments. Borrowers with Direct Loans receive a 0.25% interest rate deduction when they enroll in auto pay.
- Review loan forgiveness options
- Learn how to avoid student aid scams at StudentAid.gov. Your servicer provides free help with your questions or concerns about loan payments.
