MTI Nordby Trades Center
The amazing MTI Nordby Trades Center opened in August 2013. This 150,000 square foot building houses a variety of specialty classrooms and labs for the Construction and Manufacturing division and the Agriculture and Transportation division. There are also offices for the regional SDSU Extension center. It includes a large lecture hall and several comfortable lounge areas for studying or just hanging out with friends.
The MTI Campus Center houses administrative offices, admissions, The Center for Student Success, The Bookstore, culinary program, Health Sciences programs and general classrooms. MTI hosts one of South Dakota’s best food services in the region in this facility. Students in our Culinary Academy prepare fresh breakfasts, lunches and snacks daily in the Chef's Cafe. The Oak Room Restaurant serves meals throughout the school year and is available by reservation to the public.
This building houses some of MTI’s most sophisticated programs. High tech labs dedicated to telecommunications and computer networking are just a few of the specialty areas available to students. The Amphitheater provides a perfect venue for events ranging from movies and entertainment to formal ceremonies and training. Seating up to 180, this room is available for the public to rent.
This 47,000 square foot training center is home to all of MTI’s Energy programs. Both actual and simulated experiences await students in this unique facility. Wind turbine labs, substation labs, and a hydraulics lab are just a few of the training opportunities available. One of the unique areas in this facility is the region's only indoor pole climbing lab. Any student learning proper pole climbing technique will be tested at different heights in this lab.
