Call to inquire about the spring Training session

The trucking industry is the lifeblood of the U.S. economy with nearly 70% of all the freight moved in the U.S. put on trucks. To move 9.2 billion tons of freight annually requires over 3 million truck drivers.

Today the industry is facing a critical shortage of drivers. Driving a commercial vehicle requires a high level of knowledge, experience, skills, and physical abilities. In order to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), an applicant must pass both skills and knowledge testing. Additionally, CDL holders are held to a higher standard when operating any type of motor vehicle on public roads.

Mitchell Technical Institute can provide the proper training to ensure an adequate pool of qualified drivers in South Dakota and surrounding states. This program has been developed using standards set by the Professional Truck Driving Institute, the only certification recognized by the trucking industry.

Carriers all across the country are experiencing a shortage of qualified drivers. Professional truck drivers are in demand and can expect good wages and benefits.
