Advanced Medical Imaging


At the completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Possess problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
    • Adapt to and perform simulated routine and non-routine examinations
    • Identify diagnostic quality images and correct non-quality images
    • Recognize emergency patient conditions and initiate appropriate procedures
    • Recognize discrepancies and develop solutions to clinical situations
  2. Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrate professional interpersonal communication
    • Demonstrate effective use of technical language relevant to medical imaging
    • Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication skills which integrate computer technology
  3. Experience career exploration and continued professional development
    • Conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner
    • Work effectively with supervisory personnel
    • Gain exposure to industry periodicals and professional organizations
  4. Become registered CT and/or MRI technologists employed in their field
    • Pass the ARRT exam(s)
    • Perform as entry-level CT and/or MRI technologists
    • Secure employment in their field within 12 months of graduation
