CAREER COACH - MITCHELL, SD

Full time 11-month grant-funded position.  The career coach will serve as a liaison between the participating high schools, Mitchell Career and Technical Education Academy, and Mitchell Technical Institute.  The career coach will possess:

  • Knowledge of career and technical education.
  • Knowledge of community resources, educational opportunities and employment opportunities.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive career education program.

Experience with SD MyLife beneficial.

Power LIne Instructor - Mitchell, SD

Full-time 9-month grant funded instructor sought for MTI’s Power Line program to teach in the areas of power transmission and distribution. A minimum three years’ experience in the industry or related work experience required. Candidates must have their Journeyman license. Diploma in Power Line preferred. Must be eligible to meet State of South Dakota post-secondary instructor certification requirements. Instructors are responsible for developing lesson plans and teaching all courses as assigned; assessing student progress in classroom, laboratory, and field settings; developing and updating curriculum; and assisting with recruiting and advising students.  Applicants should possess strong writing and technical skills; the ability to communicate effectively; master change; work in groups; and have a strong customer orientation.  Position is for the 2015-16 school year.

Ag mechanics Instructor - Mitchell, SD

10-month, full-time instructor position. Associate degree in Diesel Mechanics preferred.  Minimum 3 years’ experience in the agricultural equipment service field.  Previous experience working with diagnostic equipment and tools.  Thorough mechanical theory knowledge relating to powertrains, hydraulics, electrical systems and current diesel engine technology preferred. Proficient with computers/software.
