Only ten years old, this building houses some of MTI’s most sophisticated programs. High tech labs dedicated to telecommunications, computer networking, a satellite earth station, and an automation lab are just a few of the specialty areas available to students.
Student project areas are the focus of this dynamic lab. Multiple equipment systems await you as you help design projects incorporating robotics, virtual control, sight recognition and other 21st century technologies.
Much of the learning in this area is virtual, thanks to the banks of servers and other networking equipment. Students learn to become systems or network technicians, depending upon their unique interests.
The country’s only Satellite Communications program is housed in this multi-million dollar lab. Referred to as an “earth station,” students will gain experience tracking, uplinking and downlinking satellite broadcasts for proprietary and broadcast purposes.
The Amphitheater provides a perfect venue for events ranging from movies and entertainment to formal ceremonies and training. Seating up to 180, this room also features a 15-foot screen for your movie, video, or PowerPoint presentation.
All new in 2012, this functioning telecommunications lab features a variety of work stations to simulate all types of consumer communications available today. The adjacent climate-controlled room houses a $1 million digital switch to be used for training purposes.
