Parent Intro to Student Services

Sometimes your student may need a little help along the way.  MTI Student Services is the first place you should recommend to your student to stop for valuable information or assistance.  Or if you would like answers to your questions, you are always welcome to call or stop in.  Here are some of the areas under the Student Services umbrella.

Counseling Services

Qualified counseling staff for students seeking personal counseling, career counseling or placement services is available during school hours or by appointment.

Food Service

Meals are served on both campuses for a charge during the hours students are in attendance.  They can be paid for by cash, credit card or meal tickets.  Meal tickets are available in the Business Office for $25 each.  You may purchase these for your student over the phone with a credit card.

Bookstore

Students may purchase required books and supplies in the MTI bookstore newly located in the campus center building.  School theme items and gift certificates are also available.  MTI does not extend credit at the bookstore.  Cash, check, or credit card can be used for purchases.

Parking

Parking permits will be distributed free of charge during the first week of school.  Campus parking for students is reserved on the west and south side of the north campus and at the Technology Center in designated areas.  Students who park in any MTI lot must display a parking permit.  Regulations will be enforced beginning the third week of school.

Student ID Cards

ID cards are required for all students.  If a student did not receive a card or needs a replacement, Student Services will be able to help.

Career Services

MTI’s full time Career Services Coordinator offers assistance to program graduates by providing employment leads and in some instances bringing employment interviewers to campus.  Several workshops and job seeking-related activities are sponsored each year.  The Career Services office maintains a comprehensive website for students to post resumes and for employers to post job openings.  This office also works with Mitchell-area employers to list part-time job openings for MTI students.  For more information or job search assistance, contact the Career Services Coordinator.
