Combination Technician (Full Time)

COMBINATION TECHNICIAN – Sidney, MT: Competitive wage coupled with an excellent benefit package that includes: Medical/Dental insurance, Life Insurance, 401K Savings Plan, vacation and sick leave accrual, paid holidays and many more. Two years of telecommunications experience is preferred. Background in CATV is desired. Candidates should have excellent communications and organizational skills, computer skills, a stable work history and the desire to work in a team environment. Must be able to obtain a valid Montana Driver’s License and a Commercial Driver’s License for the operation of heavy trucks and commercial vehicles or equipment. Position requires that individual must live close enough to reporting location so that individual is able to respond to emergencies promptly.

Position Details

Requirements: REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. • Associate/Bachelor Degree in an electronics related field is preferred but not required. • Telecommunications operating company experience is preferred. • Appropriate education may be substituted for experience. • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Montana Driver’s License and a Commercial Driver’s License for the operation of heavy trucks and commercial vehicles or equipment. • Installs and repairs telecommunications premise equipment. • Installs and repairs premise wiring, cabling terminals, protection and subscriber carrier devices. • Installs and repairs aerial and underground CATV trunking and distribution cabling systems. • Performs CATV installations, maintenance, and system alignment. • Performs splicing and testing functions with twisted pair, coax, & fiber optic cables. • Performs routine maintenance on remote offices, cabinets, and subscriber concentrator systems. • Installs and maintains Fiber to the Premise equipment, cabling and connected premise devices. • Installs and maintains fixed-wireless equipment, cabling and connected premise devices. • Strong background in Fiber Optics and CATV is desired. • Computer and networking skills are required. • Business telecommunication equipment sales and marketing experience is preferred. • The ability to work cooperatively with member/subscribers, fellow employees and others, and to work under adverse conditions. • Ability to learn and adapt to technology and training as required on an on-going basis and have neat and orderly work habits.
