PC Tech I (Full Time)
The primary purpose of this position is to provide JLBJ staff with support in their use of IT equipment, business applications, and networks. This position requires working weekends. *Schedule is 8am-5pm: could be Wednesday through Sunday or Saturday through Wednesday. The days during the week are flexible.
Strong customer-service orientation.
2 year technical degree in a computer science field.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot PCs and software.
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards, including desktop imaging software.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot printers, scanners, faxes, and other peripheral accessories.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Self motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks as assigned from remote IT management.
Provide training and support to, end users and staff on computer operation and other issues.
Utilize, and update enterprise ticketing system to keep track of work assigned and maintain expected Problem and Service request Service Level Agreements with the business.
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
Maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
Monitor and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports.
Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
Ability to accept assignments to setup, test, and make recommendations on new technologies as assigned.
Knowledge of current technological developments and trends in industry.
Valid driver's license and insurable.
A+ or Network+ Certification
