Message from the MTI President
Dear Friends,

As a partner and supporter of Mitchell Technical Institute, our students and our mission, you are probably aware of the growth that has taken place in recent years. Rapidly-changing technology; the emergence of new industries; and our responsibility to provide industry with a trained workforce dictate that we continue that growth with new programming and capital investment.

Recent Department of Education data shows that MTI successfully placed 96% of last May’s graduating class – our largest ever – in relevant jobs. Within the past year, MTI was re-accredited for ten years by the Higher Learning Commission; and for two years in a row, the Aspen Institute has recognized us as among the top ten percent of two-year colleges in the nation. Those, and other, metrics assure that we are moving in the right direction.
  MTI President

Our nation’s recovery from the economic recession is well underway, but it’s no secret that state governments have been unduly stressed by the national economic climate. South Dakota is no exception, and one result of our state’s challenge to meet its priorities has been a reduction in higher education funding. That reality, coupled with the needs of industry, has forced MTI to undertake it’s first-ever capital fundraising campaign.

We do so with confidence in the knowledge that we have many friends and supporters across a vast range of constituencies. That network of support is built on a foundation of trust and mutual respect that has emerged over many years of working together.

I personally invite you to join us during this very exciting time of growth at MTI. This campaign will provide the capital resources necessary to ensure students the best education available. By pledging your support to the Educating People, Empowering Communities campaign you will impact the lives of each MTI student and make a lasting difference in a prosperous future.

Thank you for your support.
