The Mitchell Technical Institute Foundation offers endowed scholarships customarily ranging from $100 to $1,000 for MTI students on an annual basis. In addition, the Foundation board and staff work with a number of individuals, financial institutions, businesses, community groups and associations that make direct grants to MTI students. These additional grants are awarded in conjunction with various technical programs at MTI or locally based organizations and often require specific criteria for eligibility.
General MTI Foundation Scholarship Information:
- Scholarship application periods are open in October and March of each school year.
- MTI students will be contacted via their MTI email with further information as the application period nears.
- Individuals must be a currently enrolled student to apply for any scholarships through the MTI Foundation.

David Grode Memorial Scholarship

David Grode was the Superintendent of Schools at Plakinton, SD. He was killed in the propane explosion that destroyed the school on November 17, 2000. In memoriam to him, his family has established this scholarship to aid in training Propane & Natural Gas Technology students. David was also an avid woodworker, therefore his family requests that ADBC students be given the opportunity to apply for this scholarship as well.
Criteria
- Must be admitted to Mitchell Technical Institute as a first semester student in Propane & Natural Gas Technologies or Architectural Drafting and Building Construction.
Awards will be based upon a combination of GPA, a recommendation and the responses to the essay questions.

These scholarships are provided to first year MTI students. The funding for this scholarship is provided by the contributions to the MTI Foundation by the staff and faculty of Mitchell Technical Institute.
