Instructor, Ag Mechanical
Mitchell Technical Institute is seeking an Ag Mechanical Instructor. This is a 9 month position and is located in Mitchell, SD. The Ag Mechanical Instructor will be responsible for the following:
- Teach courses in farm power, specifically hydraulics and diesel.
- Develop lesson plans and instruct courses as assigned.
- Conduct classroom, laboratory and field instruction.
- Partner with faculty to develop and update curriculum, and assist in the evaluation of program.
- Assist in recruiting, selecting, advising and counseling students.
Candidate must possess the following:
- 7-10 years experience required
- A.A.S. degree preferred
- Electrical and Hydraulic certifications required
- ASE Diesel certification preferred
- Proficiency in current technology and electronic control systems on John Deere, CASEIH or AGCO equipment strongly preferred
- Service Management experience a plus

- 3 years employment experience in the field
- A.A.S. degree required, with preference given to a degree in an agribusiness-related field
- Must be able to teach business classes such as marketing, taxes, accounting, and more, as related to agriculture
- Must have knowledge and experience in ag business practices. Strong business background highly desirable.
